Congress says it’s committed to peace, security in J&K

Srinagar: The Congress on October 9, 2021, said that the Congress family is committed to the peace and security of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The Congress family is committed to the peace and security of Jammu and Kashmir. Any such cowardly attack will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The whole country is united against these cowardly acts,” Congress tweeted.

A Congress delegation also visited the families of those who were recently killed by militants on the directions of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

AICC in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir Rajni Patil, J-K Pradesh Congress Committee president G A Mir, former MP Ravneet Singh Bittu along with senior Congress leaders of Jammu and Kashmir were part of the delegation.

The delegation met the family of Mohammad Shafi Dar, who was shot dead by militants three days ago in Bandipora district; prominent Kashmiri Pandit Makhan Lal Bindroo and school principal Supinder Kaur, who were shot dead by militants in separate incidents days ago, in Srinagar.

Seven civilians, four of them from minority communities, have been killed by militants in Kashmir in five days. (Press Release)
