New Delhi: The Congress on September 27, 2021, supported the pan-India strike called by the farmers over the three farm laws.
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and several other party leaders said the three “black laws” should be withdrawn
Rahul tweeted in Hindi whose English rendering is: “The farmers’ non-violent Satyagraha is intact even today, but the exploiting government does not like it, so today India is closed.”
Rahul’s sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also cornered Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She also tweeted in Hindi whose English rendering is: “Farm farmer’s, hard work farmer’s, crop farmer’s; but the BJP government is eager for its billionaire friends’ possession on these. Whole India is with the farmers. Narendra Modi, take back the black laws.”
Significantly, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (United Farmer Front), which is agitating against the farm laws, had announced a ‘Bharat Bandh’ (India Strike) on 27 September.
Apart from the Congres, various opposition parties supported the farmers’ call for Bharat Bandh. (PW News)
