Govt committed to uplift economic growth of farmers: Jai Ram Thakur

Shimla: Welfare and economic upliftment of farmers is the main concern of the State Government for which several schemes have been launched to double their income by the next few years, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said.

He was addressing the delegation of BJP Kisan Morcha here on Monday.

Chief Minister said the State Government has recently laid foundation stones of APMC Market Yards and Mandis worth Rs 197 crore in different parts of the State, which will help the farmers in getting better price of their produce nearer to their homes.

He said that the new Farm laws brought out by the Union Government were aimed at the welfare of farming community and to save the farmers from being exploited in the hands of middlemen.

The interests of the farmers are safe in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thakur said.

State President BJP Kisan Morcha Rakesh Sharma Babli apprised the Chief Minister regarding various demands of the farmers.
