Haryana sports policy very effective: Sandeep Singh

Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Sandeep Singh on October 6, 2021, said that the Sports Policy of the government is very effective.

There is a provision to provide jobs in Group A to C categories to the winning players of national and international level under this Policy, Sandeep Singh said this while handing over the appointment letters of junior coaches to 24 players, who have excelled in various sports.

Congratulating the newly appointed junior coach, the Minister said that the new Sports Policy of the government is being appreciated all over the country and sportspersons are also winning medals in Olympics and Paralympics.

“Apart from this, sportspersons are also making the State proud at the National and International levels.”

The Sports Minister said that the coach has a prominent role in nurturing players. Giving tips to the coaches, he said that all the coaches should lay emphasis on training of the players and help in producing good players for the State.

The Minister said that the government is making efforts so that the players do not face any kind of problem and they get maximum facilities.

“Sports Centres are functional at the block and district levels for the players. Sports activities are also being enhanced here. New sports centres for the players would also be introduced soon.”

With the implementation of Haryana Outstanding Sports Person Group A, B and C Service Rules-2021, a separate cadre has been created to promote sports in the State.

For this, 550 posts have been sanctioned. Besides this, the upper age limit of players has also been reduced from 50 years to 42 years, an official release said, adding that in these new rules, some new tournaments, South Asian Games, National Games, Ranji Trophy etc. have been included.
