New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 29, 2022, said that India-Israel friendship will continue to set new records of mutual cooperation in the coming decades.
He said this while making a statement on 30 years of establishment of formal Diplomatic relationship between both the countries.
Following is the English rendering of PM Modi’s statement:
“Greetings and Shalom to all Israeli friends from India. Today holds a special significance in our relationship. 30 years ago, on this day, diplomatic relations were fully established between us.
A new chapter had begun between the two countries. Even though this chapter was new, but the history of both our countries is very old. Our people have had close ties for centuries.
As is the nature of India, for hundreds of years our Jewish community has lived and flourished in a harmonious environment in the Indian society without any discrimination. The Jewish community has contributed significantly to our development journey.
Today, when significant changes are taking place in the world, the importance of India-Israel relations has increased. And what better occasion to set new goals for mutual cooperation – when India celebrates its 75th anniversary of independence this year; when Israel celebrates its 75th anniversary of independence next year, and when the two countries celebrate 30th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
On this important milestone of 30 years, I congratulate you all again. I am confident that India-Israel friendship will continue to set new records of mutual cooperation in the coming decades.
Thank You, Toda Raba. ” (Press Release)
