New Delhi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has tested positive for COVID-19.
He revealed this on Twitter on Thursday.
“I have been confirmed Covid +ve. Will get treated at the Government Medical College, Kozhikkode. Request those who have been in contact with me recently to go into self observation,” Vijayan tweeted.
It’s notable that Vijayan had taken the first dose of the COVID19 vaccine on March 3.
On Wednesday, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb was tested positive for Covid-19.
Two members of Deb’s family had tested positive for the disease in August last year.
Vijayan and Deb are the latest chief ministers to test positive for COVID-19. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani tested positive for COVID-19 in February this year.
Last year, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Karnataka’s B.S. Yediyurappa and Haryana’s Manohar Lal Khattar were among those who tested positive. (PW News)
