New Delhi: Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta on May 18, 2022, said while Delhiites are grappling with the problem of acute water shortage during this blistering heat but for CM Arvind Kejriwal serving liquor is the priority and not water.

He added that from June 1 liquor may again get cheaper.

He said this while meeting people in Chandni Chowk districts Sadar, Model Town and Chandni Chowk assembly areas during the course of pol khol (expose) campaign against the Kejriwal government.

Ex Union Minister Vijay Goel and District President Vikesh Sethi were among those present with him.

A party press release quoted Gupta as saying that the Kejriwal government has failed to fulfill even one promise that he made in past seven years.

“He has only wasted Delhiites’ hard-earned money by misleading people with his innocent face. He has only focused on self-image projection through hoardings and posters,” Gupta said.

The BJP leader said that while doing politics of publicity, Kejriwal has totally crippled the entire system in Delhi.

“He talks of education on one hand while encourages youths towards alcoholism on the other.”

Gupta also alleged that Kejriwal has cheated people over the promise of raising old-age pension.

“Kejriwal and his ministers talk about free power in Delhi while they go to other states but even juhggi-jhopdi dwellers here are getting power bills running into thousands of rupees. In the name of fixed charges crores of rupees are being charged from people even as he pretends shortage of coal and threatens about power cuts thereof.”

Vijay Goel said pollution level in Delhi is worsening year on but no concrete steps have been taken by the Kejriwal government.

“To get rid of his own issues, Kejriwal blames Punjab and Haryana for deteriorating pollution. The fact, however, is Delhi has become a gas chamber due to the ill-conceived policies of the Kejriwal government. Even the courts had chided him on this issue repeatedly but despite that he seems to be least bothered and so pollution level has now assumed deadly proportions,” Goel said.

At a separate programme, Former State BJP President Satish Upadhyay went to Green Market area under pol-khol campaign.

He said the way Kejriwal misled and showed dreams to Delhiites on the basic issues of power, water, and transportation is now before everyone.  Delhiites have now realised the world of difference between promises and deeds of the Kejriwal government thriving on publicity. District President Prashant Sharma, Councillor Radhika Abrol, and Mandal President  Manoj Garg among others were present on the occasion. (Press Release)
