Chandigarh: There is no place for corruption in health department as long as I am minister in-charge of the department and any kind of corruption will not be tolerated at any cost, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Om Prakash Soni on October 5, 2021.
He also directed the senior officers of the department to take stern action against the officials involved in any illegal practice, informed an official press release.
Chairing a meeting to review the progress of various schemes and projects of the health department here, Soni instructed the department officials to implement Citizen Charter in all the government hospitals to sensitize the people about the facilities being provided by the state government.
The Deputy CM directed the Punjab Health System Corporation (PHSC) officials to complete all the initial work for setting up of new maternity centers within a week, while asking them to ensure the completion of other projects by the end of this November, the release added.
Soni directed the officials to ensure the procurement of high quality equipment and products for hospitals.
He also asked all the senior officers posted at the headquarters to make two field visits in a week, besides starting temporary recruitment in the Civil Engineering Wing of Punjab Health System Corporation to complete all the ongoing projects on time.
Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Alok Shekhar; MD, NHM, Kumar Rahul; MD, PHSC, Amit Kumar and other officials were also present in the meeting. (Press Release)
