Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday laid foundation for the redevelopment of Kalinga Studio.
The Odisha Govt has sanctioned Rs 200 Cr for the project that will give a massive boost to entertainment industry, promoting art, culture, heritage and cinema as well generate large scale employment for the people in film, media and entertainment industry, the Chief Minster’s Office (CMO) said.
It added that the project envisages to create direct & indirect employment for 12000 in film, media & entertainment sector.
“It will preserve the heritage property , which played a key role in changing the face of Odia Cinema & support the industry.”
The Kalinga Studio will be redeveloped into three zones with shooting, post-production facilities; a comprehensive fun, entertainment, and a leisure hub.
The CMO said the redevelopment will create an ecosystem to support Odia Movie Industry as well as cater to downstream affiliates of the sector. (PW News)
