Thakur presides over Kullu Dussehra Committee meeting

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presided over a meeting of the State Level Kullu Dussehra Committee here on September 27, 2021.

A detailed discussion on various issues related to organisation of International Kullu Dussehra Utsav was held on this occasion. The International Kullu Dussehra would be organised from 15th October to 21st October, 2021.

According to a government press release, Jai Ram Thakur directed the officials to complete all preparations related to the Dussehra festival in a time-bound manner.

He also directed to ensure proper security system, uninterrupted electricity supply, and adherence of Covid-19 guidelines.

Chief Minister said that fairs and festivals represent our rich cultural heritage. The State Government is committed to conservation of these fairs and festivals and has been taking various steps in this direction.

Kullu Dussehra is not only known across the state but is known globally for its unique identity.

This is a reflection of our religious beliefs and cultural values, Thakur said.

Education, Language, and Art Culture Minister Govind Singh Thakur detailed the meeting held with District Level Committee and District Kardar Sangh related to the Dussehra festival. He also gave various suggestions related to the successful organisation of the festival.

It was decided in the meeting that all deities would be invited for the Dussehra festival. All religious ceremonies would be organised traditionally but the cultural and commercial activities would not be held.

It was also decided in the meeting that Language, Art and Culture Department would provide an additional amount of Rs. 10 lakh to district administration Kullu for organising Kullu Dussehra festival.

MLA Surender Shourie, Vice Chairman HPMC  Ram Singh, former MP Maheshwar Singh, General Secretary Kardar Sangh Narayan Chauhan, Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh, Additional Chief Secretary LAC R.D. Dhiman, Deputy Commissioner Kullu Ashutosh Garg, Superintendent of Police Kullu Gurdev Sharma, Director LAC Dr. Pankaj Lalit and others senior officers were also present in the meeting.   (Press Release)
