Under Adarsh Station Scheme, 1212 out of 1253 railway stations developed

41 railway stations under development, UP with 18 tops the list

New Delhi: Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on February 2, 2022, informed the Lok Sabha that under Adarsh Station Scheme, 1253 railway stations over Indian Railways have been identified for development; out of which 1212 stations have been developed so far.

He informed this while replying to a Starred question by Nihal Chand Chauhan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Ganganagar, Rajasthan.

The Railways Minister informed that the remaining 41 stations are planned for development in Financial Year 2022-23.

Out of 41, Uttar Pradesh tops the list with 18 railway stations where the development is under process.

These stations are: Aonla, Ayodhya, Baghpat Road, Bhatni Jn., Chanethi, Colonelganj, Gaur, Khekra, Kunda Harnam Ganj, Lal Ganj, Lal Gopal Ganj, Mahmudabad, Maniram, Musafir Khana, Phulpur, Seohara, Shahganj, and Unnao.

Following are other railway stations (except in Rajasthan) where the development is under process under Adarsh Station Scheme: Bagha, Bihar; Bandakpur, Madhya Pradesh; Batala, Punjab; Bekal Fort Kerala; Bheraghat, Madhya Pradesh; Dakaniya Talav, Rajasthan; Faridabad, Haryana; Harinagar, Bihar; Harrawala, Uttrakhand; Howbagh, Madhya Pradesh;  Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh; Kanhangad, Kerala; Kaniyapuram, Kerala;  Kannur South, Kerala; Katrasgarh, Jharkhand; Kumbla, Kerala;  Mangalore Jn., Karnataka; Neralakatte, Karnataka; Ottappalam, Kerala; Sihora Road, Madhya Pradesh;  Tanda Urmar, Punjab; Tilda,  Chhattisgarh;  and Trikarpur, Kerala.

Only one rly station in Rajasthan awaits development

The Railways Minister also informed the Lok Sabha that 40 railway stations in Rajasthan have been selected under the Adarsh Station Scheme for upgradation /modernization/beautification, and out of that 39 have already been developed under the Scheme.

The remaining one station in Rajasthan is planned for development in Financial Year 2022-23, the Railways Minister added.

Dakaniya Talav under West Central Railway is the only station in Rajasthan where development is under process. (PW News)
