Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to ensure all arrangements for wheat procurement work starting from April 1, 2021, on time. He said that the present state government is committed to providing a fair price to the farmers for their produce.
The present state government is continuously providing benefits of price support scheme to farmers on a large scale from the year 2017 onwards, he said, adding that the purchase of wheat under MSP should be conducted smoothly in the year 2021-22.
The Chief Minister was reviewing the preparations for wheat procurement at a high-level meeting convened at his government residence in the state capital on Tuesday. He said that it should be ensured that farmers do not have to wait long to sell their produce.
Arrangements for the seating and drinking water of the farmers should be made at the wheat purchasing centres, he underlined while adding that preventive measures against Covid-19 should also be adopted during wheat procurement. He also said that it should be ensured that pulse oximeter and infrared thermometer are available at the purchasing centres.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary RK Tiwari, Agriculture Production Commissioner Alok Sinha, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner Sanjeev Mittal, Additional Chief Secretary Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Director General of Police Hitesh C. Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary MSME and Information Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Information Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary Medical Education Alok Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Alok Kumar were present.
