Lucknow: The caretaker Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditynath will toady take the oath of the state’s Chief Minister at Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium here at 4 PM.
Yogi was elected leader of the UP Bharatiya Janata Party’s legislature party here on March 24, 2022.
Home Minister Amit Shah and former Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das attended the meeting as observers.
In the legislature party meeting, senior member Suresh Khanna had proposed the name of Yogi Adityanath. All the BJP MLAs agreed to make Yogi Adityanath the CM.
Later, Yogi Adityanath tweeted in Hindi whose English rendering is: “Today, once again I got the responsibility of the leader of the UP BJP’s legislature party. Hearty thanks to the Respected Prime Minister, National President, Home Minister and all the honourable members of the BJP family and allies! The journey of nationalism, good governance, security, and development will continue in UP.”
This is the first time after 37 years that a Chief Minister of UP is going to occupy power for the second time. (PW News)
